Enemy Pie (Reading Rainbow book) Hardcover – October, 2000 by Derek Munson (Author), Tara Calahan King (Illustrator) )( Chronicle Books ) IBR ChildrensBooks

This was excellent! There is no other way to describe it. Well written, interesting, cute pictures, and has a very good moral message throughout. It's a new twist on the "treat others as you'd like to be treated" Golden Rule. It's what we've tried to teach our children...most bullies, and other various assorted enemies, can become true friends, if given the chance. I love the characters in this book, and the way the little boy discovers that he no longer wants to be mean to his enemy because they've become just about best friends...excellent all the way around, and my kids love it!

t was the perfect summer. That is, until Jeremy Ross moved into the house down the street and became neighborhood enemy number one. Luckily Dad had a surefire way to get rid of enemies: Enemy Pie. But part of the secret recipe is spending an entire day playing with the enemy!
In this funny yet endearing story, one little boy learns an effective recipes for turning your best enemy into your best friend. Accompanied by charming illustrations, Enemy Pie serves up a sweet lesson in the difficulties and ultimate rewards of making new friends.
