Superfood Smoothies: 100 Delicious, Energizing & Nutrient-dense Recipes (Julie Morris's Superfoods) Hardcover by Julie Morris (Sterling) (IBRCookBooks)

I was really excited about this book because we love smoothies and are trying to eat clean and transition our family into healthier eating with pure ingredients. That being said, I've been to Costco, Walmart and Target today to stock up on ingredients for the week and even with my well stocked pantry (I have hemp seeds, chia seeds, etc) there is not a single recipe in this book I have all the ingredients for and can make today. I've never heard of maqui berry powder, ginger powder, chlorella powder, Camu powder, chia gel, hemp protein powder, and some others it's just too much too mention. The book is beautiful and the recipes look delicious. Not all of them call for foreign ingredients but the combination of ingredients is vast so you'll need to do some meal planning if you want to enjoy what this book has to offer

Power up your blender and pack more nutrition into your day

So many luscious flavors can be quickly and easily utilized to create an amazing smoothie. Natural food chef Julie Morris takes this delicious diversity one step further by loading her thirst-quenching recipes with the healthy goodness of superfoods—remarkably beneficial, nutrient-dense ingredients.

Mint Chip Smoothie
Makes 2 18 -Ounce Servings

Tucked beneath a very convincing ice cream-like flavor, a wealth of beneficial spinach awaits you in this smoothie. It’s so good it almost makes a person wonder why spinach isn’t used in all minty treats. I love how the cacao nibs provide a bit of dark-chocolate crunch without being overpowering.
Directions

Blend all the ingredients together until smooth. Taste, and sweeten as desired.
SUPERFOOD BOOST

Add 1/4 teaspoon chlorella powder (or to taste).

Ingredients

2 cups frozen spinach
1⁄4 cup raw cashews
3 tablespoons cacao nibs
2 tablespoons (packed) minced fresh mint leaves
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups rice milk (original variety)
1/2 cup coconut water
sweetener, to taste (optional)

Smoothies for every mood!
