Watercolors of Paris by Joaquin Dorao
I'm very jealous of Joaquin Gonzalez Dorao (website | blog | Facebook). To be able to travel and paint is one of the best things an artist can ask for. And Joaquin already has several books to his name. The other two sketchbooks I have are on Venice and Cadiz.
Watercolors of Paris is a self published 100-page paperback that collects the sketches from Paris. I've several sketchbooks on Paris and yet I'm still able to learn new things and see new places with his book. The main attractions like the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame Cathedral, Arc De Triomphe are along with many more, including the lesser known areas and buildings that are still historically significant.
Going through the sketchbook really made me determined to go for a sketching trip in Paris in the future. The watercolour sketches are wonderful and they are accompanied by informative text on the locations and culture. I like the way the artworks are collaged together.
Highly recommended to sketchbook lovers.
