Rosebush's acute sense of history as it unfolded before him is recorded here with all of the inspirational details that we as citizens need to remember as we reflect on President Reagan's impact on our lives and on America and the rest of the world. Though others have written more inclusive and scholarly tomes, True Reagan brings us much closer to the man himself and his guiding beliefs -- now more important than ever but certainly faded by history. As I moved through the book, I found it illuminating how Rosebush articulated Reagan's wisdom as it was drawn from his specific experiences and then made it so relevant to the times and the critical decisions taken. That's the link you get with proximity and certainly no one was closer to Reagan than his long serving deputy, James Rosebush. Moreover, the book takes you in deep and offers the rare glimpses of Reagan's affection for humanity and that allow you to cherish and savor his greatness. Rosebush has done us all a spectacular favor and let us into not just Reagan's mind, but his heart, too.
