Gideon: The Sound and the Glory Hardcover – January 5, 2017 by Joseph Ganci
The author, Joseph Ganci, a biblical scholar, visionary, prophetic interpreter and great story teller!!! His book Gideon: The Sound and the Glory takes the reader on a poetic journey of exciting adventure, intrigue, romance, deceit, murder, honor, betrayal, prophesy and war. Would liken His book to episodes in a “Star Wars” movie!
Gideon: The Sound and the Glory has the ingredients of a great epic! From a passage excerpt, David, son of Jesse concludes: “I have talked to God, and He has been gracious to me in our communication. I have come to the conclusion that no bejeweled vestment is actually necessary or needed to speak to God. I believe that it is an affront … This ungodly treasure has a history of death and violence. It has been a snare to all who have come into contact with it, and its value to me has finally been reduced to its weight in gold and the value of its jewels. These will fetch the price of food, salt, and shoes, and will help to replace our old and broken weapons with new and useful ones. No graven image is required to hear the word of God, only a contrite heart and a righteous desire to do good, and in so doing, they proclaim the greatness of our God” (pp. 361-362).
Joseph Ganci’s brings alive the biblical events as depicted in the (KJV) Old Testament. Through selected chapters in the book of Judges, his knowledge of scripture, deep understanding and insight, engaging imagination and poetic writing style is a work of epic art. Those who have and do serve in armed forces will truly capture the message of this book! Reminded of the song, Battle Hymn of the Republic, the lyric, “As he died to make men holy, let us live to make men free.” Highly recommend Gideon: The Sound and the Glory.
